What to Expect When Booking a Newborn Photographer

If you’ve never booked a newborn session before, it can feel like stepping into the unknown. When do you book? What if baby comes early? What do you need to bring? Take a deep breath — I’ve got you.

The best time to book your newborn session is during your second or early third trimester. We’ll reserve your due date on my calendar, and once baby arrives, you’ll simply message me and we’ll choose your official session date. Babies don’t always follow calendars — and that’s okay.

Before your session, I’ll send you prep guidance so you know exactly what to expect. I’ll walk you through feeding tips, what to dress baby in when you arrive, and how to help your little one stay sleepy and comfortable. My studio is warm, calm, and fully prepped before you walk in the door. Wraps, props, layers — it’s all ready.

On session day, you don’t have to perform. You don’t have to stress. You don’t even have to apologize if baby needs extra cuddles. I plan plenty of time so we can move at baby’s pace. Safety is always my top priority, and every pose is done gently and intentionally.

After your session, I carefully edit each image to keep skin tones soft and natural while still giving that polished, timeless finish I’m known for. When you see your gallery, my hope is that you don’t just see photos — you feel that season again.
